Chad Reed 3rd at Georgia Dome
The L&M/San
Manuel/Yamaha rider got a blistering start, taking the holeshot ahead of the
current championship leader. The two rivals battled for the lead over
the opening laps of the race before Reed slid out on Lap four and dropped back
to fifth.
Reed re-mounted his Yamaha YZ450F and set about chasing down
the leaders and methodically reeled in fourth then third, but ran out of laps to
challenge for second place. “I am really disappointed with myself for
making that mistake tonight,” Reed said. “I have been training well all
week and the bike has been awesome.”
“The team at L&M Racing have
been there week-in-week out and I’m sure we will bounce back at St Louis next
weekend.”
As the 2007 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series hits the
halfway mark in the championship Chad Reed is currently second in the
championship on 171points. The 24-year old will next compete at Round 9
of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series which will be held at the Edward Jones
Dome in St Louis, Missouri on Saturday 3rd March.
