Podium for Reed at Daytona
Reed is no stranger to the Daytona International Speedway having won back-to-back events in 2004 and 2005 but the Australian struggled to get a good rhythm going through this evening’s heats and 20-lap Main Event.
While acknowledging this was one of his all time favourite tracks Reed also conceded he didn’t have the pace early on. “I love this race,” Reed said. ”This is one of my favorites of the year and I was excited to come here.”
“I took a digger in practice, hit my head and got a good bruise on my forehead. Other than that, it was good. I felt comfortable and my YZ450F was very good in practice.”
“Throughout the night program, I struggled with my
lines and couldn't get a good flow going. It was a frustrating Main Event for
me, I didn't get off the start the way I wanted and I just didn't have the pace
early on.
“It's just no fun to go and ride like I did tonight," Reed
admitted “But we have still scored a podium and the championship is still within
reach.”
Reed and his L&M/San Manuel/Yamaha team will regroup before
the Round 11 of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series which will be held at the
Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida on Saturday 17h March.
